Instructor: Dallas Elkins
As a school oriented toward science and math, chess fit beautifully in the agenda of this school. The chess club had its ups and downs but thanks to some very involved parents and supportive administration, it worked out well and had many very strong players in the chess club who placed in top 10 at the state Championship tournaments. The decision to move from their original location had put a strain on the chess club but this season the club is back and running and I do expect more great chess things from the school in the upcoming chess season.
