I’m pleased to announce the dates for our 2nd Annual Western Alliance Scottsdale Summer Chess Camp! It will take place July 28-30th, 2010 coupled with a USCF rated tournament on the 31th, at the beautiful Unity Chess Club in Scottsdale. It is open to all up to 1500 USCF rated players of any age.

Summer Chess Camps are widely popular throughout the United States, and thousands of players each year use this opportunity to learn from masters in intense, day-long sessions. Ever since Arizona Chess For Schools held its widely popular Western Alliance Tucson Summer Camp in 2006, a niche was created for similar events for chess enthusiasts
throughout Arizona. Now, in its 5th year of making, it is the most popular Camp in Tucson for all ages and strengths. The players who attended these Camps have since greatly increased their chess knowledge, rating, and won numerous State and National titles. The Camps helped them boost their desire to play chess and to study and enjoy this wonderful game.

Our Scottsdale Summer Camps promise similar results. Our camp was very successful last year and we plan to make it even better this year. Our Scottsdale Summer Camp provides a perfect blend of chess studies, interaction with the best available coaches and other players. As the organizers of the Western Alliance Scottsdale Chess Camp, we are very pleased to see how interest for playing and studying chess had skyrocketed amongst those who attended it last year. In order to ensure the perfect blend between high quality studies, excitement and fun, this year’s instructors will be chosen based on their chess expertise, rating, coaching experience and general styles. We are pleased to announce our list of possible instructors for our camp this year. Please note that some have not yet been confirmed and that the list of instructors will be finalized once we’re closer to the actual camp dates.
