GAME IN 25 MINUTES
DECEMBER 8TH, 2012.
5 ROUNDS

QUICK AND FUN CHESS!

University of Arizona Genomics Institute will sponsor the event (together with the Bio5 Facility). This tournament is brand new concept for Tucson chess and might turn out to be the missing link between fast chess and the traditional type chess we are so used to here. Each side will have only 25 minutes + 3 seconds increment for each game. It will not count for an official rating, making it more enjoyable for the players, and casting less pressure on players. However, the Regular or Quick USCF rating will be taken as the base for player’s rating in each group, whenever applicable.
This time control allows enough time to show player’s true strength while giving a chance to lower rated and the quick-witted players to beat players they normally would have a very hard time competing against.

In addition, there will be a special Food Drive concurrent with the tournament, where the participants will have a chance to win many wonderful prizes, while helping the needy at the time of holiday celebration.
