DANIEL DE LA FUENTE: 3rd Grade Regional Co-Champion!

Exert from a proud mom’s letter.

Daniel De La Fuente, 9 years old, a 3rd grade Castlehill Student, participated this March 13th at
the Southern Regional Championship chess tournament at St.Cyril Elementary. Daniel got 5 points out of 5 rounds possible and with a perfect score tied with Ryan Thompson for the title.
He is now the 2010 Co-Champion for the prestigious title of “K-3 SOUTHERN ARIZONA REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP”.

His entire family and I are very proud of him for all his effort and dedication to chess, and we congratulate him for his accomplishment as well as his coach Levon Altounian and the Castlehill Country Day School.

Daniel, go confidently in the direction of your dreams! We hope this is just the beginning for you and proves that hard work will always pay off. You will excel in everything you decide to do in your life and I’ll always personally be there supporting you.
