An International Master for many years, Mark has many international tournaments under his belt and is exteremly difficult to beat. The winner of several competitions in Europe as well as the USA (such as the Universe Open 2008, Brugges and Eeklo, Belgium, 1985 and 1990), Mark specializes in Opening Systems and positional play. Mark has a deep and thorough understanding of all the systems he plays in tournaments. His approach, both on the chess board and while teaching, is straight-forward, with a passion for serious studies and deep concentration. Mark is also an accomplished computer programmer. He owns his own business and holds a teaching position at the University of Arizona. Mark was an instructor at our Western Alliance Summer Camp of ’08.
