Since 2000, Steve has mentored chess to over 3,100 students in Phoenix and Tucson. Some of Coach Steve’s students accomplishments have included winning a 2001 Kindergarten Arizona State Championship and over a hundred individual and team trophies at the local, regional, state and national levels. Twenty of Steve’s students have been rated in the top 100 of the USCF scholastic players listing. Steve is currently teaching 16 school in the Tucson area.
