Satori Chess Club started in September 2008 and very quickly attracted dozens students, most of whom were new to the game. However, that didn’t stop them from quickly learning the moves and getting more serious about the game. The school also added a nice touch: some helpers and parents come to help with the class, keeping the order and helping with setting up of the chess boards and pieces. In just a few months, many students are showing very good ability in chess as well as starting to participate in chess competitions. I have high hopes for this school in the upcoming chess year.
