SESSION 3
JANUARY 15th marks the start of the popular Fort Lowell Chess club SESSION 3!
It is open to anyone currently attending an after-school chess program or not. Home-schooled or attending a private school with no chess club.
The club aims to accommodate all who would like to improve chess and their chess rating, have fun, take the edge of the fear for making a mistake and come out with a smile.
The only requirements: the most basic knowledge of chess moves.
Here is the breakdown by days, levels and times. Each class is held for 1 hour, once a week.All classes count for 8 week sessions. Join us to learn chess, interact with other students, play tournament level chess, play Blitz and Bughouse and win prizes.
GROUP 1: TUESDAYS: 3:30-4:30 PM: BEGINNERS GROUP. Open to students between approx. ages of 4 and 8 with only basic knowledge of chess. ($160).6-8 per group.
GROUP 2: TUESDAYS: 5:00-6:00 PM: INTERMEDIATE GROUP. Open to students of approx.6-11 years old and a rating of between 300-900 USCF.($160).6-8 per group.
GROUP 3: THURSDAYS: 5:00-6:00 PM: INTERMEDIATE GROUP. Open to students of approx.6-11 years old and a rating of between 300-900 USCF.Very similar to Group 2.($160).6-8 per group.
GROUP 4: THURSDAYS: 6:00-7:00 PM: ADVANCED GROUP. For experienced tournament players of about 900-1400 USCF level.($160).6-8 per group.
GROUP 5: SUNDAYS: 1:00-2:00 PM: SUPER ADVANCED GROUP.Similar to Group 4 but a bit higher by rating, smaller group and more tournament oriented. ($200).3-6 per group.
