Basis Elementary has long had the reputation of one of the best school in Arizona and recently I learned there are also considered to be one of the top schools in US. That attitude of hard work and serious approach was also passed to the chess club and for many years the school enjoyed top spots in both individual and team competitions, winning numerous State championships ( including this year ). Thanks to the great support and volunteer contribution of some of the parents, as well as the general support from the school administration, the chess club is in a unique position to stay as one of the best chess clubs in Arizona for many years.
