One of the largest chess Camps in Arizona and the largest in Tucson took place at the end of June as usual.

The Camp consisted of the Main Event (9AM-4 PM), the Evening Events (5PM-7PM) and the Grand Prix #4 tournament (June 29th).

We had 64 participants, 5 coaches and 8 Assistant Coaches and Helpers.

It was one of the most peaceful, comfortable and non-problematic camps we ever had a pleasure of running . The Group 1 even had an entire auditorium all to themselves! It was wonderful to also see all of those who traveled far and wide to be part of this Camp. It does help when each group has not only a coach but several helpers as well.

The Coaches as usual were selected to to reflect the greatest diversification in terms of experience, practical knowledge, contemporary tournament experience and skills. There were 4 groups with a rating of 100 and up to 1850 USCF. Ages  also widely varied between 5 and 76 years olds.

Thank You to all the Parents, participants, IST, Coaches and Helpers for such a wonderful event and so much dedication!

Please remember that this Camp happens on the LAST FULL WEEK OF JUNE EACH YEAR!
